About Us

Gym-Worx LLC began as a local, club-specific repair and service company known as The Gym Doctor in 2010. The founders were two club directors whose major issue in their facilities was member satisfaction with broken, improperly functioning, and worn equipment. With issues such as frayed and dangerous cables, missing pins, loose bolts, and squeaking pulleys, the strength equipment needed constant attention. And on the cardio side, along with units which were totally out of service, there always seemed to be loosened and worn belts, non-working sensors and motor functions, cracked housings, and missing screws, all of which combined to create headaches on a daily basis. They began to research and learn about the specific equipment in their own clubs and soon found they had a great knack for diagnosing and repairing all types of fitness equipment. Word spread quickly to other clubs and soon they were servicing equipment in all 7 clubs in their chain. The club owners were impressed enough to send them to their initial tech training certification programs in 2011 and The Gym Doctor was born.

As the company began to provide services to other local fitness facilities, a national parts company mistakenly mixed up The Gym Doctor in Louisiana with a ‘Gym Doctor’ in California. So in mid-2012, with long range goals in mind, the company made a strategic decision to change the company to Gym-Worx, LLC.

Gym-Worx is based in Baton Rouge, LA in a 7000 sq ft office/warehouse capable of housing a multitude of equipment for service and/or distribution. Company services include diagnosis and repair (both warranty and out of warranty service), preventative maintenance plans, installations, relocations, and anything else that a fitness facility may need assistance with in the area of cardio or strength equipment. The Gym-Worx technicians have experience with all brands of equipment including, but not limited to, Life Fitness, Octane, Star Trac, Matrix, Cybex, PreCor, Free Motion, Body Masters, True, Sports Art, Nautilus, and many others.
